2.50mm*350 5 Kg Hardfacing Welding Electrode Kobatek 544 is an iron-based and cobalt-alloyed hardfacing electrode that allows obtaining welding fillings with the desired hardness in a single pass. The filler metal provides high strength against the wear and oxidation that occur on tool steels operating at high temperatures and the metal-to-metal friction. In addition, it offers high resistance to abrasion and chipping. With the high heat conduction capability of the weld metal, there is no decrease in hardness value up to 650°C. It is ideal for welding applications on high strength carbon steels and hot work steels. When compared to other iron-based filler materials providing similar hardness values in thick fill welds done with Kobatek 544; – Less cracking issues occur. However, depending on the type and thickness of the base metal, preheating between 150 - 400°C is recommended. The filler metal can only be worked with tools that have tungsten carbide cutting edges. Holding the electrode at a 45° angle to the weld pool and working with a short arc are recommended. Hardness: Annealing Temperature: 760 - 800°C Applications:
