Piston airless paint pumps operate by using the air taken from the compressor's air line to move the piston with the help of the air motor in its structure, applying the paint compressed at high pressure to the surface with the help of a spray gun (airless gun).

Air-driven piston paint pumps are driven not by an electric motor but by compressed air.

It works by connecting a compressor of suitable capacity to the air line, depending on the flow capacity of the pump and the pressure value required by the operating conditions.

Since airless paint pumps do not operate with electricity, they have an explosion-proof (ex-proof) feature. For this reason, they are often preferred in closed areas where solvent, thinner, and many other flammable and explosive paints are applied to surfaces.
