20-40000 Litre Stainless Steel Reactor

Polmak P-R001 offers stainless steel reactors with a capacity of 20-40000 litres, designed in accordance with international standards and manufactured using high-quality materials.

Mixing

The mixing process is essential for the effective realization of reactions and obtaining a homogeneous product. In Polmak reactors, mixing is carried out through a rotating shaft provided by the drive unit located at the top. The blades mounted on the shaft are designed to effectively mix the materials inside the reactor.

A wide variety of blade designs are used, and typically the blades cover approximately 2/3 of the reactor diameter. In the case of mixing viscous sticky products, paddle-type mixers with a close gap between the blades and the reactor wall are preferred. Additionally, baffles are used to disrupt the flow created inside the reactor. These baffles are either fixed to the top of the reactor or mounted on the side walls.

However, in large reactors, the amount of energy that can be applied to the mixing process is limited. When high loads are applied to the mixer, problems may arise over time in stabilizing the shaft. Therefore, in cases where mixing is a critical parameter, the reactor alone may not be an ideal solution. In such cases, alternative methods such as ultrasonic mixing or static mixers can be used.

Heating-Cooling System

During the reaction, the products inside the reactor typically release or absorb heat. Therefore, it is important to maintain the product temperature inside the reactor at the desired level. For this purpose, jackets or coils are located outside the reactor. Controlled heating or cooling is carried out through these jackets or coils.

The heat transfer fluid circulates through the jacket or coil to transfer heat. External cooling jackets are preferred in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as they facilitate the cleaning of the vessel. However, in large reactors, there may be significant heat transfer limitations due to design. These limitations should be taken into account.

• Material Quality: Manufactured from AISI 304, 316, 316L, 316Ti quality and certified stainless steel material. This material provides high durability and long life.

• Heating and Cooling: Heating and cooling are carried out with a jacket or half-pipe coil on the outer body and a draw pipe coil on the inner part. These systems are used to control the heat changes that occur during the reaction.

• Pressure and Temperature Resistance: The reactor is resistant to pressures of up to 16 bar and temperatures of 300°C, providing a wide range of usage.

• Mixing System: Mixing is carried out using mixer blades or baffles mounted centrally on the drive shaft located at the top of the reactor. The type of mixer is determined according to the properties of the material to be mixed.

• Safety: ATEX applications are available for use in hazardous areas, providing a safe working environment.

• Other Features: Features such as speed control with an inverter and precise weighing with a load cell are available.

• Capacity: The capacity of the reactors ranges from 20 litres to 40000 litres, making them suitable for various industrial applications.
