4.00mm*450 5 Kg Hardfacing Welding Electrode It has a basic slag type. The filler metal has high toughness and is used in hardfacing welding of alloyed and non-alloyed steels. It shows high resistance to abrasive wear, metal-to-metal friction, and cracking under impact working conditions. The highest wear resistance is obtained in applications of three-pass weld overlays. Precisely adjusted 'Cr' content allows the filler metal to resist moderately aggressive corrosive effects. It retains its hardness at working temperatures up to 500 °C. The weld metal can be machined by grinding. The risk of crack and porosity formation in the weld seam is very low. Hardness: 54 - 58 HRC Applications: Attention! Note: The arc length should be kept short. Working at the lowest possible current value is recommended to reduce dilution with the base metal. A very slight oscillation can be given to the electrode during welding.
Hardening: Quenching in oil or air at 950-1000 °C
Tempering: Slow cooling in the oven at 850 °C
– Worn surfaces of drilling and breaking tools in mines

While unalloyed steels up to St 70 do not require buffer layers, it is recommended to use buffer layers with Kobatek 301 or Kobatek 315 for alloyed materials and with Kobatek 352 or Kobatek 382 electrodes for some special materials.
