3.25mm*350 5 Kg Hardfacing Welding Electrode Cobalt-based electrodes are the hardest among all. They are used in hardfacing welding of high-alloy steels, hot work steels, self-hardening steels, high manganese steels, and nickel alloys. The resulting filler metal contains a high amount of 'Co' (cobalt) and exhibits excellent resistance to thermal shocks up to 800°C, corrosion, oxidation, and metal-to-metal friction under pressure. The filler metal maintains its hardness even at high working temperatures and shows high resistance against cavitation wear. Hardness: Applications: Before welding thick-sectioned parts, a preheat of 300 – 400°C should be applied. The inter-pass temperature must be monitored, and a slow cooling should be ensured after welding. For welding on some Cr-Ni steels, Kobatek 382, Kobatek 352, or ASP-310R electrodes are applied as buffer layers. A clear structure cannot be achieved with Kobatek 540. When a balanced appearance is obtained with thickness, passes can be made with Kobatek 541 or 543, and then the cover pass can be completed using Kobatek 540.
