Standard Vertical Type Mechanical Torque Multipliers – OSSA PP Series

 
It offers lower-cost solutions for your tasks requiring torque control where the capacity of manual torque wrenches is insufficient, compared to electric, battery, pneumatic, and hydraulic torque wrenches. With high transmission ratio and torque capacity, it allows you to complete your tightening and loosening operations up to 10,500 N.m with ease and without any power consumption.
 
OSSA Standard Vertical Type Mechanical Torque Multipliers, thanks to the Return Safety Lock, do not allow the torque force applied to be felt by the operator while applying high torque values, preventing the back pressure of the torque force generated during the operation and providing maximum safety for operation.
 
Standard Vertical Type Mechanical Torque Multipliers are equipped with a Special Production Planetary Gear System. They are extremely durable even against the heaviest working conditions. The torque multiplier, exposed to high torque input, is protected by safety pins. Excessive torque force applied to the torque wrench breaks the safety pins, preventing damage to the planetary gear system and the mechanical components inside, serving as a fuse. Additionally, the direction selection pin on the device allows for practical adjustment of the tightening and loosening direction. The square drives of 1” and 1 1/2” vary according to the model and can be used with all pneumatic heavy sockets.
 
The selection of the Ratchet Torque Wrench for the Vertical Type Torque Multiplier can be made according to the transmission ratios determined based on the device model. OSSA PP series vertical type mechanical torque multipliers have high transmission ratios of 16, 18, and 60 times. The torque value to be processed is divided by the transmission ratio of the device to determine the value to be set on the torque wrench. For example, we have a torque multiplier model PP-57 with a maximum torque capacity of 5,700 N.m. Let's say we will perform a bolt tightening operation with 3,960 N.m, the transmission ratio of our device is 18, we divide the torque value we want to tighten by the transmission ratio (3960 : 18 = 220), the resulting value gives us the torque value we need to set on the ratchet torque wrench. Thus, the operator can set the ratchet torque wrench to 220 N.m and bring the torque multiplier to the tightening direction, allowing the operation to be performed comfortably without any power consumption. In short, the maximum torque wrench capacities required according to their models are as follows: PP-33 model 206 N.m, PP-40 model 250 N.m, PP-43 model 268 N.m, PP-57 model 316 N.m, and PP-105 model 175 N.m. Using the torque wrench above the specified maximum values and performing operations with pneumatic nut tightening guns on the torque multiplier input will inevitably cause gear breakages. OSSA standard vertical type torque multipliers can only be used with ratchet torque wrenches or digital torque meters that can be precisely adjusted. You can also use all torque wrenches that match the square drives and torque values you have.
 
OSSA Standard Vertical Type Mechanical Torque Multipliers have Support Legs. The cast support legs with a robust production structure are necessary to create the opposing force of torque multipliers that work on the principle of action-reaction. A support leg suitable for standard use comes with the device. Different types of support legs are offered optionally for your special applications. Torque multipliers cannot be calibrated; only the torque wrenches used with the device can be calibrated by an accredited company.
