Overview

Graebener® pipe end welding edge opening machines continuously raise the standards for preparing pipe end weld seams. While mechanical copying devices have required a fixed network width as a technological standard for years, we have designed an additional "all-in-one" technology for you, the machine operator, that allows you to optimally process not only carbon steels but also other material types. In a single machine, both mechanical copying and CNC copying can be performed - single-sided or double-sided design according to need for all welding seam geometries.

Considering the constantly changing quality standards, common pipe end welding edge opening processes fall short when it comes to complex geometries and pipes with high wall thickness. Thanks to the precise CNC control in the tool support unit of your specially designed Graebener® machine, you can now process pipes with wall thicknesses up to 80 mm and bring even the most complicated welding edge geometries to life separately and at low cost. Mechanical copying can be done for lower wall thicknesses and relatively simple geometries.

CNC Advantages

Only the best technology is used for excellent results. Our CNC technology automatically takes into account the ovality at the pipe end for high wall thicknesses, thus providing a constant network width. This is made possible by an electronic measurement system that measures the ovality of the pipe center throughout the entire pipe circumference. In this way, deviations from the theoretically determined pipe center can be graphically displayed.

Your Graebener® machine generates a specific number of data for each type of pipe end, and this data is processed in the CNC software for automatic corrections of the tools. There is even no need to consider the weld seam during processing, as the seam is detected as an uneven measurement based on precise measurement data by the intelligent control software and compensated during processing.

Additionally, the electronic measurement system - in the double-sided machine concept - allows for the automatic measurement of pipe length and thus ensures that the pipe is adjusted exactly as desired.
