3.20mm*350 5 Kg Hardfacing Welding Electrode Kobatek 544 is an iron-based and cobalt-alloyed hardfacing electrode that allows achieving the desired hardness in a single pass. The filler metal provides high strength against wear and oxidation on tool steels operating at high temperatures and also offers high resistance against metal-to-metal friction due to abrasion and oxidation. It also provides high resistance to abrasion and impact. Thanks to the high heat conductivity of the welding metal, there is no decrease in hardness value up to 650°C. It is ideal for welding applications on high-strength carbon steels and hot work steels. When compared to other iron-based filler materials that provide similar hardness values in thick fill welds with Kobatek 544: – There are fewer cracking problems. Hardness Tempering Temperature: 760 – 800°C Areas of Use
– Excellent welding ability allows for stable arc working.
– With its high metal deposition rate (%135), it contributes positively to the reduction of welding time and labor costs.
– Usually, there is no need for a buffer layer. However, it is advisable to apply preheating at 150 – 400°C depending on the type and thickness of the base metal.
– The filler metal can only be processed with cutting tools containing tungsten carbide tips.
– It is recommended to hold the electrode to the welding pool at a 45° angle and work with a short arc.
– 46 – 50 HRC (post-welding)
– 54 – 57 HRC (after work and impact)
Hardening Temperature: 1050 – 1100°C
Tempering Temperature: 400°C (air cooling)
– Printing and hot stamping molds
