400x400 mm Industrial Wastewater Filter Press is designed for solid-liquid separation and dewatering of sludge generated in production facilities and industrial wastewater treatment processes. During filtration, the liquid phase in the sludge passes through the filter cloths, while solid particles are retained between the filter plates and form a filter cake. This process reduces the liquid content of the sludge and produces a filter cake that is easier to handle and transport. The machine frame is manufactured as standard from ST37 steel, while the feed section is made of AISI 304 stainless steel. The filtration section is equipped with 400x400 mm PP Chamber filter press plates. The number of filter plates can be determined according to the daily sludge volume, process characteristics and required capacity of the plant. The filter plates are compressed by a hydraulic system. Forward and reverse movements of the hydraulic piston are controlled by the operator through the control panel. The watery sludge generated during the treatment process is fed into the filtration section of the filter press by a pump. The filter cloths allow the liquid phase to pass through while retaining solid particles between the plates. As filtration continues, the solids accumulate and form a filter cake. When the filtration cycle is completed, the hydraulic piston is retracted, the plates are opened manually by the operator and the filter cakes are discharged. The filtrate passing through the filter cloths can be directed to a suitable point according to the existing wastewater treatment and water management system of the plant. Filter press capacity should not be determined only according to plate size. The solids content, particle structure, daily sludge volume, filtration time and operating conditions should be evaluated together. 400x400 mm filter presses can be manufactured with different numbers of plates according to various plant and process requirements. Since the characteristics and particle structure of industrial wastewater sludge may vary from one plant to another, selecting the correct filter cloth plays an important role in filtration performance. Whenever possible, a filtration test is carried out using a sludge sample supplied by the customer. During the test, filtration behaviour, filter cake structure and filtrate quality are evaluated.
