500x500 mm Industrial Filter Press

500x500 mm Industrial Filter Press is designed for separating solid particles from liquids and forming filter cake in various industrial production and process applications.

During filtration, the liquid phase passes through the filter cloths and leaves the system, while solid particles are retained between the filter plates and form a filter cake. The machine capacity and number of plates can be determined according to the characteristics of the product to be filtered and the production requirements of the plant.

500x500 mm Industrial Filter Press Construction

The machine frame is manufactured as standard from ST37 steel, while the feed section is made of AISI 304 stainless steel.

The filtration section is equipped with 500x500 mm PP Chamber filter press plates.

The filter plates are compressed by a hydraulic system. Forward and reverse movements of the hydraulic piston are controlled by the operator through the control panel.

The number of plates can be determined according to the required capacity, processing volume and process characteristics.

How Does Filtration Take Place?

The product to be filtered is fed into the filtration section of the filter press by a pump. The filter cloths allow the liquid phase to pass through while retaining solid particles between the plates.

As filtration continues, the solids accumulate between the plates and form a filter cake. When the filtration cycle is completed, the hydraulic piston is retracted, the plates are opened manually by the operator and the filter cakes are discharged.

The filtrate passing through the filter cloths can be directed to a suitable point according to the existing process configuration of the plant.

System and Capacity Selection

Filter press capacity should not be evaluated only according to plate size. The solids content, particle structure, daily processing volume, filtration time and operating conditions should be considered together.

500x500 mm filter presses can be manufactured with different numbers of plates according to the required capacity.

Filter Cloth and Sample Testing

Since the characteristics of the product and the particles it contains may vary from one process to another, selecting the correct filter cloth plays an important role in filtration performance.

Whenever possible, a filtration test is carried out using a product sample supplied by the customer. During the test, filtration behaviour, filter cake structure and filtrate quality are evaluated.

Based on the test results, suitable filter cloth and filter press specifications can be determined.
