The solid-liquid mixture is transferred to the filter press with the help of a high-pressure pump.

The solid-liquid mixture is filtered through filter cloths fitted on the filter press plates, and solid particles are collected between the filter plates.

The liquid resulting from the filtration is removed from the equipment.

Filter Press Working Principle

The basic working principle of the filter press is a machine that separates products such as (sludge, mud, residue) from the liquid.

The filtration process sends the product to the filter press with the help of a pump. The product passes through the plates in the filter to reach the filter cloths, and the liquid products are filtered out through the cloth, while the solid (residue) part that is not liquid gets compressed between the filter press plates, forming a cake. The process is completed when the cake section between the plates is filled, and the filter press is opened. The plates are separated, and the cake sludge between them is cleaned. After the cleaning process is completed, the plates are compressed again, and the filter press machine is ready to operate again.

Types of Filter Press

Manual Filter Press: The operations of plate separation, plate compression, and plate cleaning are performed by the operator.

Semi-Automatic Filter Press: The operations of plate separation and compression are performed with the help of a control panel. The plate cleaning process is done with the help of the operator.

Fully Automatic Filter Press: The operations of plate separation, compression, and plate cleaning are performed from the control panel.
