800x800 mm 20-Plate Wastewater Filter Press

The 800x800 mm 20-plate wastewater filter press is an industrial filtration system used for solid-liquid separation and sludge dewatering in industrial wastewater treatment plants.

During filtration, the liquid phase passes through the filter cloths and leaves the system, while solid particles accumulate between the plates and form a filter cake. This reduces the water content of the sludge and produces a more manageable and transportable solid cake.

The machine frame is manufactured as standard from ST37 steel, while the feed section is made of AISI 304 stainless steel.

Depending on process requirements, the filtration section can be equipped with 800x800 mm PP Chamber filter press plates or a solid-empty plate system.

This model is configured with 20 plates. For different capacity requirements, the number of plates and machine specifications can be determined according to the production capacity of the plant and the amount of sludge generated.

How Is Wastewater Sludge Dewatered?

The watery sludge generated during the treatment process is fed into the filtration section of the filter press by means of a feed pump. The filter cloths allow the liquid phase to pass through while retaining the solids between the plates.

As filtration continues, the solids accumulate and form a filter cake. Once the filtration cycle is completed, the plates are opened and the cake is discharged from the machine.

The separated filtrate can then be directed to a suitable point according to the existing treatment and water management system of the plant.

20-Plate System and Capacity Selection

Filter press capacity should not be evaluated only according to plate size. The solids content of the sludge, daily sludge volume, filtration time and operating conditions of the plant should also be considered together when selecting the appropriate capacity.

This 800x800 mm 20-plate model can be used for specific capacity requirements. For projects requiring lower or higher capacities, the appropriate number of plates can be determined according to the process data of the plant.

Filter Cloth and Sample Testing

Since the characteristics of wastewater sludge may vary from one plant to another, selecting the correct filter cloth plays an important role in filtration performance.

Whenever possible, a filtration test is carried out using a sludge sample. The filtration behaviour of the sludge, the structure of the resulting filter cake and the filtrate quality are evaluated. Based on the test results, suitable filter cloth and machine specifications can be determined.
