What is a Concrete Pump?

This product is a machine used for liquid transfer. There are two types of concrete pumps. The first type is a boom pump. It is attached to a truck or found on longer units. It uses a remotely controlled articulated robotic arm (boom) to place concrete correctly. Boom pumps are found in many large construction projects, high-volume pumping environments, and retirement-focused nature of placement booms. They are a revolutionary alternative to line concrete pumps. The second main type is a line pump. It can be mounted on a truck or placed on a trailer and generally referred to as a trailer pump or stationary pump. Steel or flexible concrete placement hoses are made to attach to the machine's output manually. These hoses are connected and the concrete needs to be placed. This product is frequently used to place concrete in basement floors, large concrete slabs, pool decks, and almost anything that cannot be reached using concrete trucks or with a 16-foot cold chute. Its operation involves the use of hydraulic and electrical systems. This system includes material cylinders connected to hydraulic cylinders that rotate reciprocally. While the concrete mix is in the hopper and the pump is operating, a material cylinder retracts to draw material into the cylinder. The transition from one cylinder to another happens by continuously providing a flow of concrete mix along the concrete pipe system of pump trucks. It can be operated from the pump control panel or remotely. The hydraulic oil flow created by the hydraulic pump drives the piston of the drive cylinder back and forth within the drive cylinders. Since the drive cylinders and concrete cylinders' pistons are connected to each other, the pistons move synchronously. When a drive cylinder retracts with the concrete piston, concrete is drawn from the hopper to the concrete cylinder. Simultaneously, the other drive cylinder and concrete piston are extended toward the hopper. The concrete piston pushes the concrete through the S-Tube and into the concrete pipes and hoses. Then, at the end of the pump stroke, the pump shifts and allows the concrete to transfer to the other concrete cylinder that sucks and fills the cylinder. Reverse pumping connects to the concrete that suctions from the hopper instead of the S-tube during the suction stroke. As a result, the concrete piston pumps the hopper back to the concrete. Reverse pumping is mainly used to clean concrete hoses after casting operations. The pumping power of the concrete pump is provided by the motor that drives the hydraulic pumps. Optional handheld cables or remote controls allow the pumping process to be operated from a distance. The concrete pump is designed to safely pump wet concrete through a pipe and hose distribution system suitable for the released ratings and specifications.

The safety and stability of the concrete pump during operation are provided by front and rear outriggers. The controls for the outriggers are placed on the sides of the concrete pump truck. It is the transportation of a freshly mixed concrete pile to a specific location on the field. This can be the pumping of concrete to the back yard of a house or to a suitable location for concrete used for footings.
