Introduction

PVC marble-look sheets are plastic panels that mimic natural marble. The surfaces of these sheets contain marble patterns and glossy coatings, but they are much lighter, easier to install, and more cost-effective compared to real stone. They are commonly used for interior wall cladding, ceiling panels, and furniture surfaces.

Due to their water resistance and durability, they are also suitable for humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms. In hotels, offices, stores, and residences, PVC marble sheets offer the appearance of real marble at a much lower cost.

⚙️ Production Process

The PVC marble sheet extrusion line consists of several stages:

1. Mix Preparation: PVC resin, calcium carbonate filler, stabilizers, and pigments are thoroughly mixed in a special mixer.

2. Extrusion and Melting: This mixture is fed into twin-screw (e.g., SJSZ-80/156 or SJSZ-92/188 model) extruders via an automatic feeder or vacuum filling device. Inside the extruder, the material is melted and homogenized at a specific temperature. The conical twin-screw arrangement ensures uniform plasticization of the PVC mixture.

3. Molding and Laminating: At the extruder exit, the melt passes through a T-shaped mold to form a continuous sheet. This hot, soft sheet is immediately taken to a three-roller calender machine. A decorative PVC or PET film with a marble pattern is automatically applied to the sheet while it is still hot. Heated rollers adhere the film to the sheet, eliminating the need for additional adhesives. Simultaneously, these rollers adjust the thickness of the sheet and imprint the marble texture onto the surface.

4. Cooling and Cutting: The laminated sheet then moves to the cooling unit. Stainless steel cooling rollers and a long water-cooled section gradually solidify the material. The cooled sheet is pulled by a holding unit and then cut to the desired size by cutting units. Photoelectric sensors precisely control the cutting length.

5. Automatic Stacking: Finally, an automatic stacking robot picks up and stacks the finished panels, reducing the need for manual labor.

• Environmentally Friendly Lamination: No toxic adhesives are used in the process; since the film is laminated with heat, the process is environmentally friendly. Additionally, some systems may use recycled PVC.
