Deburring is the removal of burrs and sharp edges from metal products. Burrs are small pieces of metal that stick to the surface of the sheet, mostly around the cut edges. These are caused by cutting processes such as laser, waterjet, punch or plasma cutting.

Famak manufactures sheet metal deburring machines for efficient and optimum production. The deburring units used in the machines are generally sanding bands. Each abrasive has its own grain size (abrasive grit) required for different types of burrs and alloys. For softer alloys, finer grit abrasives are recommended, while for alloys such as steel, larger grit abrasives are best.
